7th Grade Math Program of Studies
Course Description:
This course reinforces arithmetic skills, developing the pre-algebra concepts of variable recognition, signed numbers, formulas and single variable equations. Students will be introduced to algebraic symbolism, simplifying expressions, solutions to elementary equations, and the graphic representations associated with variables.

GCS4: Pythagorean Theorem: Understands using coordinates to find perimeter of polygons and areas of triangles and rectangles. Understands using simple geometric theorems on a coordinate plane.
GAP8: Angles: Understands supplementary, complementary, vertical, and adjacent angles. Understand angle relationships: parallel lines cut by a transversal, angle sum and exterior angles of a triangle.
GME6: Area: Is skilled at finding the area of triangles, parallelograms, trapezoids, and other polygons.
GME7: Circles: Is skilled at finding area and circumference of circles.
